Otroci so nato s pomočjo staršev v domačem okolju poiskali primere predmetov v obliki krogle, kvadra, valja in stožca ter jih vključili v svojo knjižico.

Title:Creating a book of solid figures with children
Abstract:This thesis, titled "Creating a Book of Solid Figures with Children", consists of a theoretical and a practical part. This book is a new teaching aid designed to help children gain a better understanding of solid figures and learn about them. The theoretical part presented mathematics in the preschool years and the importance of geometry in the development of a child's mathematical thinking. Solid figures and their characteristics were also described, as was the teacher's role in planning mathematical activities. This part also presented a book of solid figures, which helps children connect geometric concepts to everyday objects. For the practical part, we introduced a book of solid figures to children aged 2 to 4, and carried out activities focused on recognising and sorting solid figures. With their parents' help, the children then looked for examples of objects in the shape of a sphere, a rectangular cuboid, a cylinder and a cone in their home environment and included them in their books. Based on an analysis of the collected samples, it was determined that children can generally successfully identify solid figures and connect them with objects from their everyday environment. The results show that the use of concrete objects and a book of solid figures effectively promotes the development of mathematical concepts and spatial thinking in preschool children; however, because of the possibility that parents helped with the activities, the findings cannot be fully generalised.
