Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava investicijsko in varčevalno vedenje študentov v Sloveniji. Namen diplomskega dela je ugotoviti, v kolikšni meri in kateri dejavniki so povezani z investicijsko naravnanostjo študentov. V teoretičnem delu smo na podlagi pregleda domače in tuje literature predstavili investicijsko in varčevalno vedenje in dejavnike, ki vplivajo na finančne odločitve mladih, med katerimi izstopajo finančna pismenost, odnos do tveganja, finančna samokontrola, osebni dohodek in spol. V empiričnem delu smo izvedli kvantitativno raziskavo z anketnim vprašalnikom, v katero je bilo vključenih 75 študentov. Podatke smo obdelali s programom IBM SPSS Statistics, in sicer z deskriptivno statistiko, Pearsonovim koeficientom korelacije in t-testom za neodvisna vzorca.

Title:Investment and savings behavior of students in Slovenia
Abstract:This thesis examines the investment and savings behavior of students in Slovenia. The purpose of this thesis is to determine the extent to which, and which factors are associated with, students’ investment orientation. In the theoretical section, based on a review of domestic and foreign literature, we presented investment and savings behavior and the factors that influence young people’s financial decisions, among which financial literacy, risk attitude, financial self-control, personal income, and gender stand out. In the empirical part, we conducted a quantitative study using a survey questionnaire, in which 75 students participated. We analyzed the data using IBM SPSS Statistics, specifically descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and the t-test for independent samples. The results showed that students are strongly inclined toward saving but are reluctant to invest, as investment orientation achieved the lowest average value among all constructs. We confirmed that investment orientation is positively correlated with perceived financial literacy, negatively correlated with risk aversion, and varies by gender. We were unable to confirm correlations with personal income, financial self-control, and saving behavior. Based on these findings, we have formulated recommendations for policymakers, with the overall goal of facilitating the transition from saving to long-term investing for young people.
