Abstract:Zaključno delo obravnava izzive mladih odraslih v Sloveniji ob ponovnem vračanju v delovno in študijsko okolje po zaključenem onkološkem zdravljenju. Medtem ko so fizikalne ergonomske prilagoditve (osvetlitev, zmanjševanje hrupa, ureditev prostora) in osnovne časovne olajšave ocenjene ugodno, pa opazno primanjkuje prilagoditev same organizacije dela (fleksibilen delovnik, prožnost odmorov, prilagoditev zahtevnosti nalog). Postopki vračanja so pogosto neformalni in niso prilagojeni dejanskim potrebam posameznikov.

Title:Analysis of challenges faced by young adults after cancer treatment and organizational support for returning to work in slovenia
Abstract:This thesis examines the challenges faced by young adults in Slovenia when returning to work and academic environment following the completion of cancer treatment. The aim of the study is to assess the adequacy of existing organisational, ergonomic, and systemic accommodations, and to identify key barriers to the reintegration process. A review of the professional literature is complemented by empirical research conducted among employees and students following the completion of treatment. The findings confirm that individuals may experience pronounced physical, psychological, and cognitive side effects following treatment, including chronic fatigue, fear of recurrence, chemo-brain, which may significantly impact their work capacity. The analysis of organisational practices reveals a discrepancy between existing legislation and its implementation in practice. While physical ergonomic adjustments, such as lighting, noise reduction, and workspace organisation, as well as basic schedule accommodations, are evaluated favourably, there is a notable lack of adaptations to the organisation of work itself, including flexible working hours, flexibility regarding breaks, and adjustments to task complexity. Return-to-work procedures are often informal and insufficiently tailored to individuals' actual needs. The thesis highlights the need to establish standardised return-to-work protocols and to improve awareness among employers and teaching staff. Successful reintegration into the work or study environment ultimately depends on close cooperation between healthcare services, employers, educational institutions, and individuals.
