Title:Investigating the effects of worker workload during human-robot collaboration on well-being and performance
Abstract:The master’s thesis examines the role of collaborative robot speed in the efficiency of human–robot collaboration within the designed experiment. It presents the fundamental characteristics of collaborative robots and their importance in manufacturing, where they are increasingly working alongside operators to perform various production tasks. The aim of the research was to analyse the operator’s interaction with a collaborative robot under three different robot operating-speed conditions. During the experiment, task completion time, the number of completed assemblies, and operator workload based on heart rate were monitored. The collected data were analysed using appropriate statistical methods. The experimental results showed that the operating speed of the collaborative robot is an important factor in human–robot collaboration. The findings are consistent with existing literature, which emphasizes the importance of appropriately adjusting the operating parameters of collaborative robots. The research contributes to a better understanding of the design of collaborative workstations and provides a useful basis for the implementation of collaborative robots in industrial practice.
