Title:AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER - STANDPOINTS OF TEACHERS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS ON PUPILS WITH AUTISM
Abstract:Magisterial work talks about autism, which is one of the most expanded nerve developing disorders and affects human personal as well as social function. The exact cause isn't known. There are many theories and many researches, but no conclusions were found. There are much known facts about how to treat or ease autism and how to take care of children who have autism. The most important thing is to recognize autism as soon as possible and the quick intervention afterword. Magisterial work describes different definitions and classifications of autism that authors are still not united about. We have closely looked into aetiology of autism and characteristics that are typical with an autism child. We have also written about how to diagnose autism and what are prognoses for these kinds of children. In empirical part we have described my research, with which we have studied points toward autistic children, especially the ones of teachers and other professional workers, who daily meet autistic children. We have checked the knowing of autism with children, teachers and other professional workers. In our research there were 220 participants, half of them were teachers and the other half were professional workers (social workers, psychologists, special educators and defectologist). The results have shown that teachers as well as other professional workers don’t know autism so good. The years of work don't influence on results. The participants in our study, who had previous experience with autism, know autism much better. The direct contact with autistic children and years of work experience don't effect on the commitment about positive points to children with autism.
