Title:ANALYSIS OF REPORTING ON EDUCATION OF EMPLOYEES IN THE ANNUAL REPORTS OF COMPANIES INCLUDED IN THE SLOVENIAN STOCK INDEX TOP (SBI TOP)
Abstract:The present thesis reports the results of an analysis on how reporting on employee education and training is included in annual reports of SBI TOP companies, which are also leaders in their respective areas of business in Slovenia. By analysing annual reports for 2013, particularly non-mandatory descriptive reporting on employees and their education and training included in the annual reports, and focusing also on other parts of annual reports, we studied the scope of reporting on participants and content of education and training programmes, and time and costs dedicated by companies to education and training. The present thesis focuses on weighing the importance of education, training and development of human resources in the studied Slovene companies. Our aim was to assess the quality of public reporting on education and training of employees. The introductory part of this thesis reveals that reporting on employee education and training in annual reports is not imposed by law or any other rules and regulations. In view of this, it was not surprising to find out that reporting on employee education and training differs significantly among companies. Moreover, it was established that the companies increasingly make use of internal education and training, some companies have even set up own educational and training programmes, with main focus and attention on young and perspective employees. Comparative analysis described in the last part of the thesis showed which of the studied companies are strong on reporting on employee education and training in their annual reports and which are weak on such reporting.
