V teoretičnem delu smo opredelili pojem plesa in orisali zgodovino razvoja plesa. Nato smo pojasnili značilnosti plesne pedagogike. Predstavili smo njena načela, cilje, vsebino, oblike in metode dela. Nato smo opredelili ples kot športno panogo, kjer smo obravnavali načela športnega treniranja in model športnega treniranja. Opredelili smo lastnosti in naloge plesnega učitelja. Nazadnje smo predstavili sistem izobraževanja plesa v Sloveniji. V empiričnem delu nas je zanimalo, kakšna stališča so imeli plesni učitelji do plesne dejavnosti. Prav tako smo raziskovali najpogostejše metode plesnega poučevanja. Zanimali so nas najpomembnejši cilji plesne vzgoje in lastnosti uspešnega plesnega učitelja.

Title:Teaching dance from the dance teachers' aspect
Abstract:In the master's thesis we discussed the topic of dance education. We were interested in the opinions of dance teachers on teaching dance in practice. In the theoretical part, we defined the concept of dance and outlined the history of development of dance. Then we explained the characteristics of dance education. We presented its principles, goals, content, forms and methods. Then we defined dance as a sports discipline, where we discussed the principles of sports training and the model of sports training. Then we focused on the dance teacher and his characteristics. Lastly, we described the dance education system in Slovenia. In the empirical part, we were interested in the views of dance teachers on dance activity. We also researched the most common methods of dance education. We were interested in the most important goals of dance education and the characteristics of successful dance teachers. Here we were finding statistical differences according to their field of study, the form of dance education and years of experience. The research was carried out with a survey questionnaire between May and June of 2018 on the sample of 114 dance teachers. The results have shown most dance teachers rating dance as an art activity the highest. The most common method of education turned out to be the method of demonstration. Dance teachers rated the physical-movement goal as the most important goal of dance education. The characteristic of dance teachers which was rated the highest was the responsibility to themselves/maintaining of role model.
