Title:The inclusion of dancing in the one-month educational work plan for 1-2-year-old children
Abstract:In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, we present dance education in the preschool period and define its characteristics, goals and effects on children. A significant emphasis has been placed on movement and dancing activities for children in the first age group, particularly on their planning and defining goals, and examples of such activities have been listed. There is also a comprehensive description of connection between dance and other educational fields. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with child’s development in the first age group as well as the effects of dance on integral development of a child. The empirical part of the diploma thesis presents 8 written preparations and evaluations of educational work. There were 14 children included into activities, 6 girls and 8 boys, aged 1–2 years, attending the Biba unit of the Vrtec Škofja Loka nursery school. The activities have been carried out for one month, namely in the form of 2 performances per week in the group. Within the one-month educational work plan, we have chosen activities that include dance or upgraded planned activities with dancing. Our goal was to encourage dance education in nursery school educational work. In addition, we wanted to connect dance with other activities. It was found out that dance may be connected with other educational fields in different ways. We also noticed that children developed a positive attitude towards dance when dancing activities of various topics were carried out multiple times.
