Abstract:Zaradi intenzivne globalizacije je za ustrezno poslovno komuniciranje in vodenje v mednarodnem trženju zelo pomembno poznavanje značilnosti nacionalnih kultur in njihovih vplivov na mednarodno trženje. V diplomskem delu smo proučevali komunikacijske stile in stile vodenja v indijski in brazilski kulturi. V teoretičnem delu smo najprej opredelili pojem kulture in spoznali različne elemente kulture. Ker sta Indija in Brazilija kolektivistični družbi, v obeh prevladuje timsko usmerjen stil vodenja.

Title:Intercultural differences in communication and leadership styles: the cases of India and Brazil
Abstract:Due to all the globalization around the world, intercultural contacts are becoming increasingly important. One of the biggest challenges for international marketers is cultural environment of foreign countries. The key to successful international business is knowing and understanding the elements of culture. In the dissertation, we studied communication and leadership styles in Indian and Brazilian culture. In the theoretical part, we first defined the concept of culture and learned about different elements of culture. We also defined models for measuring intercultural differences, focusing mainly on Hall's model and the GLOBE model, which helped us identify the prevailing communication and leadership styles of selected countries. In the empirical part, we briefly presented both countries, where we also included their cultural surroundings. We focused primarily on communication and leadership styles in both countries, where we established that the countries are considerably similar, despite the fact that they are on completely different continents, and they have different religion. Both Indian and Brazilian cultures are classified as high-context cultures, where the emphasis is on nonverbal communication. The GLOBE model results showed that the two countries also match in leadership styles. Because India and Brazil are collectivist cultures, the predominant leadership style is team-oriented leadership style.
