Title:Comparison of ethical culture and ethical climate in homes fot the elderly in the public and private sectors
Abstract:The purpose of the research is to examine the dimensions of ethical culture and ethical climate in the organization of public and private social security sector in the Republic of Slovenia (ie three homes for the elderly in the Republic of Slovenia that are part of the public sector and three homes for the elderly that are part of the private sector ). In order to determine whether the individual dimensions of the ethical culture according to the Kaptein typology and the individual dimensions of the ethical climate according to the Victor and Culln typologies differ according to the job and the education of employees, if these differ according to whether the organization is in state-owned or privately owned. We found that there are no statistically significant differences in assessments of ethical climate and ethical culture according to job and education. Regarding the organization, whether it is private or publicly owned, we found statistically significant differences in the assessments of ethical culture, among other things, when we only partially accepted the hypothesis in the assessments of ethical climate. By processing the data, we came to the conclusion that the variables - the level of education of the employee in the employee's workplace, does not affect the perception of ethical culture and ethical climate in selected Slovenian homes for the elderly. While the variable - type of organization (ie public versus private sector), in ethical culture it affects the perception of ethical culture in the organization, and only partially this applies to the ethical climate.
