Abstract:V tem diplomskem delu smo preučili vpliv kulture na poslovanje v Savdski Arabiji in Kitajski. Posebno pozornost smo namenili trem uveljavljenim modelom merjenja medkulturnih razlik – Hallovemu, Hofstedovemu in Lewisovemu modelu –, ki omogočajo poglobljeno razumevanje kulturnih dimenzij. V empiričnem delu smo izvedli podrobno primerjavo obeh držav z uporabo teh modelov in analizirali, kako se razlike v kulturnih kontekstih odražajo v poslovni praksi.

Title:Doing business in the cultural environments of Saudi Arabia and China
Abstract:In this thesis, we examined the impact of culture on business in two countries – Saudi Arabia and China. We focused on understanding the key elements of the cultural environment that affect business communication, negotiations and the establishment of international business relationships. Our task was to comparatively analyze the cultures of both countries and highlight how cultural factors guide the behavior of companies and individuals in business. In the theoretical part, we presented the fundamental concepts of culture and its components, such as values, religion, language, social structure and aesthetics. We paid special attention to three established models of measuring intercultural differences – Hall, Hofstede and Lewis models – which enable a deeper understanding of cultural dimensions. In the empirical part, we conducted a detailed comparison of both countries using these models and analyzed how differences in cultural contexts are reflected in business practice. We found that understanding the importance of religion, hierarchy, and traditional values is key to doing business in Saudi Arabia, while building long-term relationships and respecting group harmony are crucial in China. The work emphasizes the importance of adapting to cultural differences and highlights that understanding the local cultural environment is essential for success in the global marketplace.
