Abstract:Magistrsko delo preučuje ustvarjalno poučevanje naravoslovja in tehnike v petem razredu osnovne šole z uporabo odpadnega materiala.

Title:Creative approaches to teaching in primary education: working with waste materials to promote ecological awareness and sustainable practices
Abstract:The master's thesis explores creative teaching of science and technology in the 5th grade of primary school using recycled materials. The theoretical part presents the concepts of scientific and technical literacy, creativity, and environmental education. The empirical part is based on an action research approach: five selected models from a commercial science kit (parachute, swing, kite, cooler bag, and anemometer) were constructed, analysed, and for each model, a didactically equivalent alternative made from recycled materials was developed (helicopter, pendulum, sailboat, thermos, and windmill). The products were evaluated in terms of functionality and sustainability. The research was conducted without the involvement of external participants. The results indicate that recycled materials can fully replace the original components without compromising the pedagogical value of the teaching tools. This approach promotes development of scientific and technical skills and enhances students’ environmental responsibility. The findings support regular inclusion of sustainability-oriented practical activities in teaching and offer specific guidelines for educators.
