Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava pojav skimpflacije, pri katerem podjetja prikrito znižujejo kakovost izdelkov/storitev ob nespremenjeni ceni. Podatki so bili analizirani z deskriptivno in regresijsko analizo v programu SPSS.

Title:The perceived fairness of skimpflation
Abstract:The thesis discusses the phenomenon of skimpflation, in which companies covertly reduce the quality of products/services while keeping prices unchanged. The research focuses on how consumers perceive skimpflation and what impact this practice has on their satisfaction, trust, and loyalty to the brand. The data were collected using an online survey questionnaire created with the 1ka.si tool. The questionnaire included questions regarding the perception of skimpflation, the assessment of fairness, and the impact on consumer trust and brand loyalty. A quantitative research approach was applied, using a non-probability convenience sample consisting of 118 Slovenian consumers. The data were analyzed using descriptive and regression analyses in SPSS. Findings show that most consumers perceive the occurrence as unfair and misleading, which can negatively affect the relationship between consumers and companies. Upon detecting skimpflation, consumers often decide to switch brands, reduce their willingness to repurchase the product/service, and share the negative experience with others. The thesis shows that hidden changes in quality can jeopardize the competitiveness of companies.
