Skozi svobodno raziskovanje barv otroci namreč spoznavajo sebe in svet okoli sebe.

Title:The Connection Between Emotions and Color Choice in Artistic Expression in the 1st Grade of Primary School
Abstract:In the diploma thesis, we examine the relationship between emotions and colour choice in the visual expression of children in the first grade of primary school. Colours have a significant influence on children's experiences, expression, and mood, as they represent one of the fundamental channels for communicating emotions. In the theoretical part, we present basic colour theory and the meaning of colours, their impact on children's psychological and emotional experiences, and the development of visual expression in early childhood. The empirical part is based on six visual art activities carried out with first-grade pupils, in which we observed the relationships between colour choices associated with specific emotions and the emotional responses elicited by the use of particular colours. The results of the study have shown that children intuitively associate certain colours with specific emotions: joy is most often expressed through warm colours (yellow, orange, red), sadness and fear through cool and dark tones (blue, black, grey), and anger through intense contrasts (red, black, purple). We found that girls more frequently choose lighter and softer colours to express positive emotions, while boys tend to use stronger and darker tones when expressing anger and fear. Visual expression has proven to be an effective means of developing children's emotional sensitivity, imagination, and self-reflection. Through free exploration of colours, children engage in self-discovery and also discover the world around them.
