Abstract:Pomen komuniciranja v osebnem in poklicnem življenju je vedno bolj v ospredju.

Title:Nurse communication with patient by phone
Abstract:The importance of communication in personal and professional life has lately become quite prominent. In certain professions, such as a nurse, successful communication is of extreme importance. It presents the base for health care support despite the position of an individual in the health organization and medical branch or discipline. Therefore, successful communication leads to better and higher standards of health care support and to better satisfaction of patients and medical workers. The first part of my diploma deals with some basic principles of communication and communicational process in medical care, communication by telephone and some ethical dilemma within the process of communication. The second part presents the analysis of phone calls that were made at Dr. Lovše’s dispensary. The analysis of phone calls has shown that there were 68 telephone calls all together, but only 48 or 70.5% of those calls were inteded for a nurse. The patients usually call into the dispensary to order themselves for medical examination by the doctor. There were 28 such calls, connected to the latter. People mostly call into the dispensary between 8.00 and 8.30. Due to the data analysed, the third part consists of some recommendation in order to change and improve the quality of communication to the patient.
