Abstract:Uvod: Diplomirane medicinske sestre generacije Z, ki vstopajo v delovno okolje, so mlade in še neizkušene, klinično okolje pa zanje predstavlja velik izziv zaradi zahtevnega dela, hitrih odločitev in stika z življenjsko ogroženimi pacienti. Ustrezne članke smo iskali v podatkovnih bazah PubMed, ScienceDirect (Elsevier) in CINAHL Ultimate (EBSCOhost Web) v časovnem obdobju 2015–2025. Pregled in izbor identificiranih virov smo izvedli v skladu s smernicami PRISMA.

Title:Generation Z nurses` experiences of entering the professional environment
Abstract:Introduction: Generation Z registeres nurses entering the workplace are young and inexperienced, and the clinical environment presents a significant challenge for them due to the demanding nature of the work, the need to make quick decisions, and contact with patients whose lives are at risk. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the experiences of Generation Z nurses entering the professional environment. Methods: We conducted a literature review in the thesis using the PRISMA diagram. A descriptive method was used, with analysis and synthesis of six studies. Relevant articles were searched for in the PubMed, ScienceDirect (Elsevier), and CINAHL Ultimate (EBSCOhost Web) databases and through citations in the period 2015-2025. Results: We found that newly employed Generation Z nurses experience feelings of doubt, lack of self-confidence, and stress when entering the work environment, mainly due to their less developed clinical experience. They experience challenges in communication, where they perceive a lack of trust, respect, and support from older team members. Discussion and conclusion: The experiences of Generation Z nurses indicate a link between an uninspiring work environment and stress, and emphasize that mutual respect and a sense of autonomy are key to job satisfaction. By further studying these experiences, activities could be developed to improve work performance.
