Abstract:Uvod: Klinično okolje je obremenjujoče in stresno, kar zahteva kompetentnost zdravstvenih delavcev na tehničnem, psihološkem in čustvenem področju.

Title:The impact of emotional intelligence on the quality of communication among health professionals
Abstract:Introduction: The clinical environment is demanding and stressful, requiring healthcare professionals to be competent in technical, psychological, and emotional aspects. Dealing with stressful situations requires recognizing, understanding, and managing the emotional states of both patients and healthcare professionals. Consequently, effective communication leads to safe and high-quality healthcare and influences patient trust and satisfaction. The purpose of this literature review was to determine the impact of emotional intelligence on the quality of communication between healthcare professionals and patients. Methods: We searched international databases for scientific literature using a search string and conducted a literature review. We included articles relevant to the topic. We used a diagram to illustrate the search process and an evaluation table for data analysis. Results: Emotional intelligence has a positive impact on communication, both directly and indirectly. It improves communication and, consequently, the relationship with patients, while also strengthening trust. This leads to higher quality of healthcare and greater patient satisfaction. It also reduces the negative impact of stress and burnout. Discussion and Conclusion: The findings emphasize that emotional intelligence is an important component of quality communication, as it enhances an empathetic approach. They also indicate the need for its development.
