Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava vlogo področnega vodje pri doseganju uspešnosti poslovanja maloprodajnih enot na primeru podjetja Trgovine Jager. Namen dela je ugotoviti, kako se njegova vloga kaže pri spremljanju poslovnih rezultatov, organizaciji dela, vodenju in podpori poslovodji in komunikaciji s poslovalnicami. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljena ključna spoznanja s področja managementa, srednjega managementa, vodenja in komuniciranja. S spremljanjem poslovnih kazalnikov, prepoznavanjem odstopanj, usklajevanjem kadrovskih in organizacijskih potreb ter redno komunikacijo s poslovodjo prispeva k uspešnosti poslovanja maloprodajnih enot.

Title:The impact of area manager on the business performance of retail units - a case study of the company trgovine Jager
Abstract:This diploma thesis examines the role of the area manager in the business performance of retail units, using Trgovine Jager as a case study. The purpose of the thesis is to determine how this role is reflected in the monitoring of business results, work organization, guidance and support provided to the store manager, and communication with retail units. The theoretical part presents key concepts in management, middle management, leadership, and organizational communication. The applied part is based on a case study, an analysis of internal business data, and two semi-structured interviews with the area manager and the manager of a selected retail unit. The findings show that the area manager primarily performs a coordinating, guiding, supervisory, and supportive role. By monitoring business indicators, identifying deviations, coordinating staffing and organizational needs, and maintaining regular communication with the store manager, the area manager contributes to the business performance of retail units. The study indicates that the area manager’s influence on business results is mainly indirect. Through guidance, information integration, and support for the store manager, the area manager creates conditions for timely problem solving and more effective work organization. The thesis also presents proposals for improving the monitoring of business indicators, agreed-upon tasks, major sales projects, and the development of employee knowledge.
