Abstract:Sposobnost ponavljajočih se šprintov (RSA – ang. repeated sprint ability) predstavlja pomembno kondicijsko sposobnost v sodobnem nogometu, saj morajo igralci med tekmo večkrat izvajati kratkotrajne visoko intenzivne oziroma maksimalne napore ob nepopolnem okrevanju.

Title:Repeated sprint ability (RSA)
Abstract:Repeated sprint ability (RSA) represents an important physical ability in modern football, as players are required to repeatedly perform short-duration high-intensity or maximal efforts with incomplete recovery during a match. Successful repeated-sprint performance depends on the interaction of several factors, including speed, power, aerobic and anaerobic capacity, neuromuscular efficiency, and the ability to recover between consecutive efforts. The purpose of this thesis is to present and analyse repeated sprint ability in football and its relationship with other motor and physical abilities. The thesis is based on a review and analysis of relevant domestic and international professional and scientific literature. It discusses the physiological and neuromuscular factors affecting RSA, its relationship with speed, endurance and change-of-direction ability, as well as the importance of testing and monitoring repeated sprint ability. The practical part presents different training methods for the development of RSA, progressing from basic linear repeated sprints to repeated sprints with changes of direction, ball-based training, small-sided games and integrated game-specific training. Based on the reviewed literature, it can be concluded that effective RSA development requires a systematic, progressive and individualised approach in which general physical conditioning is gradually complemented by training that reflects the specific demands of football.
